Use this process when a drug is covered by ODB, requires a pseudo DIN, and you want the drug name to differ from the exact flavour or description listed in the ODB formulary.
Open or Create the Drug
- Search for the drug and go to it
- If the drug is already linked, click Drug Links.
- If it is not linked, select Custom Drug.
- Click Edit Drug.
Enter Drug Details
- Enter the pseudo DIN in the DIN Number field.
- Enter the drug name.
- Set the Status to Marketed.
- Click Update / Save Drug.
Configure Billing as a Pack (If Required)
If the drug must be billed as a pack:
- Go to the Plans tab.
- Add ODB (or the applicable plan).
- Enable Bill as Pack.
- Set:
- Province: Ontario
- Pack Size: All
- Click Save.
Test Billing
- Go to the Rx Dispensing screen.
- Attempt to bill the drug to confirm it processes correctly.
Additional Notes
- If the product has a case GTIN on the box, search it up on McKesson and use the unit GTIN if you want the drug to be linked globally.
